What sort of things does Dr Magic do?
Dr Magic performs sleight-of-hand close-up magic. His acts incorporate card tricks (his favourite), coins magic, small flames, notes, rings and borrowed objects. He performs mind reading & mind control effects, vanishing and reappearing tricks and much more (watch the vids). The standard of magic is comparable to the close-up ‘street magic’ style of tricks you will see on TV such as those of David Blaine and Dynamo.

Dr Magic's performances not only keep your guests entertained but also help with breaking the ice at wedding, corporate and party events, which can be invaluable in helping maintain the buzz throughout the night. Not many people have witnessed this style of magic in person and so it can add the ‘wow factor’ to your event, leaving them talking for years to come.
How does he work at the event?
Close-up magic is very versatile. How it works depends on the event type. As a rule of thumb when there are moments when guests are chatting/ mingling or periods of waiting e.g. a drinks reception, waiting for food or just standing around at a party that’s the sort of time Dr Magic will perform. When there is another main focus e.g. people are physically eating, speeches or other entertainment Dr Magic will not perform. N.b Dr Magic does not need a table to perform
How long does he perform for?
Close-up magic generally for 1, 2 or 3 hour slots.
What does he wear?
Dr Magic wears a smart suit unless the event is casual.
Can we meet you before deciding to book your services?
Whilst Dr Magic is happy to travel long distances to your event, it is not really feasible to do so for a quick discussion when most of the points can be tackled by telephone. For demonstrations refer to videos and read reviews to see what feedback has been. Dr Magic may also be able to put you in touch with previous clients who have booked him in past.
How much does it cost to hire Dr Magic?
No two events are the same. The price depends on the time of year, the number of hours required, the type of event and location. Please fill out an enquiry form to get a quote a.s.a.p. There are no hidden charges from this and all quotes include travel expenses.
How far in advance do we need to book?
It is not uncommon to have clients book a year in advance and some dates are booked even longer in advance. This is especially true for popular times of year such summer months, bank holidays and Christmas period. However some events can be booked at fairly short notice. We advise you to get in touch a.s.a.p. if you are certain you want to book.
The booking process?
Once you have agreed on a booking, Dr Magic will ask for further details of your event and he will run through some final points. This can help you plan Dr Magic into your itinerary to achieve maximum impact. He will then send over an invoice, which has the booking conditions (ie date, time, venue, no of hours agreed) and terms and conditions. The deposit will be 40% non-refundable deposit, which secures the date and has to be paid within 7 days. The outstanding balance is paid within 2 weeks of the event.
Does Dr Magic perform Children’s magic?
No, Dr Magic only performs magic for grown-ups. As it is a sophisticated style of magic people younger than 8 years old may not be able to understand.
